Why arts.works?
‘An intensive arts.works programme here in Columbia has made a huge difference to the perception of BP as an organization to work for. I would like to see this spread like a virus through the organization internationally.’ Tim Summers, CEO BP Columbia
It is no coincidence that the companies that earn their places on the Times 100 Best Companies to Work For list, invest heavily in training and social events for their employees. These companies understand that valued people increase business value.
Our unique programme helps engage employees with their company, inspiring creativity, innovation, commitment and cohesion. Whether it is music, dance, sculpture, film or drama, everyone can participate, guided by arts.works practitioners who are the best in their respective fields (from a world class opera singer to an Academy-nominated film director). They are encouraging and inspiring, trained by arts.works to deliver sessions of quantifiable value.
An arts.works programme works with and for everyone – everyone is actively involved, tackling a steep learning curve and acquiring new skills together to work towards a common goal. Everybody gains and is inspired to be fully engaged with the company. Our sessions are hugely enjoyable, but they are not passive social events.
We believe inspired people become more innovative, bringing new ideas that benefit the organisation as a whole. Participants build a social identity, explore creativity and take ownership of the company values and goals.
The arts are a unique, enjoyable and cost effective way of achieving these aims. In an arts.works programme the analytical, intellectual and logical are engaged in equal measure with the intuitive, creative and aesthetic. And it is fun!
