Paul Gladstone-Reid
Paul Gladstone Reid is a highly versatile composer, pianist, singer-songwriter and producer. His music reaches from the classical, ethnic to the urban contemporary in a musical world where there is no division between high-culture, popular music and entertainment.
Paul’s been broadcast on BBC Radio and Television. He co-writes the music to the acclaimed TV Series, Spooks as well as nature programmes for BBC, Discovery Channel and National Geographic.
Last year his first major ballet, Awakening was performed at Sadler’s Wells, London, produced by ROH2 (Royal Opera House). His second ballet score, Pleidian Dances formed part of ‘Maybe Living Is What Its About’, performed by principals & soloists of the Royal Ballet and Kirov Ballet.
High profile music engagements have ranged from performing for HM Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace for The Queen’s Music Day, with the Abantu Ensemble (March 2005) to conducting Lou Reed’s ‘Perfect Day’ for BBC Music Live, from the Millennium Dome, for a nationwide performance including Sir Elton John and Westlife.
As a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and record producer, Paul has worked with Sony Music, Warner Music and EMI, in many diverse genres including Hip Hop, Indie, Reggae, Gospel and Rock.
Paul Gladstone Reid is a board member and advisor for a host of charities including the 2012 Olympic Cultural & Education Committee, and was founder of the Youth Non-Governmental Organization, Foundation for Youth and Atlantic 2000. He is the coordinator of Caribbean events for this year’s Commonwealth Cultural Festival in Malta for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
