Ralph Allwood is Precentor and Director of Music at Eton College.

Eton College Chapel Choir, directed by Ralph, has toured worldwide and released five recordings. Ralph also directs the Windsor and Eton Choral Society and the leading young Choir, Rodolfus. The latter have released recordings of music by Francis Grier to high critical acclaim.

Ralph founded the annual Eton Choral Course for prospective choral scholars. Each year the courses broadcast and record for BBC Radio Three, and this has led to choral courses in Taiwan, Sydney, Barcelona, Harvard University, Boston and Utrecht.

He has written music for commercials, notably Persil, Renault, Hyundai and British Rail, and is a series editor for Novello Ltd. He has been musical director for National Youth Music Theatre musicals for ATV, Granada and BBC2.

Previously Musical Director of the National Youth Choir of Wales, Ralph is a judge for the Sainsbury's Choir of the Year Competition and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, and is an advisory editor for Novello and Co. He regularly visits the USA to give master classes and workshops.

In 2002 Ralph was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal School of Church Music, and in 2003 an Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
