Tim Palmer

Tim Palmer

Tim Palmer studied music at Cambridge University and completed his postgraduate Performance Studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

As a Music Director, Tim Palmer has over ten years’ experience in creative and interactive music workshop direction, leading events for major festivals, orchestras and arts organizations, with a strong commitment to community and youth music making.

Large-scale projects include the Spirit of Friendship Festival (Commonwealth Games Baton Tour), Birmingham 2002, for which he was Procession Director. Tim was also Musical Director of the Millennium Dome Milton Keynes performance ‘Our Town Story’, which was held up as an example of national best practice.

As an orchestral percussionist, Tim has played as guest principal with the highest quality orchestras and ensembles, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta.

Tim is Senior Lecturer in Music Education at Trinity College of Music, London, specialising in creative project leadership.
